SKYWARN volunteer weather spotters needed: training now available

REEDVILLE—The National Weather Service in Wakefield had a busy winter and spring, keeping an eye on the weather and training SKYWARN spotters during online classes.

Although online classes taught by meteorologists at the Wakefield office have been suspended until fall, there are still opportunities to train to become a volunteer spotter this month, according to Pete Stover of Reedville.

Stover is the SKYWARN Northern Neck area manager of the WX4AKQ Amateur Radio Support Team for the Wakefield office.
