WHITE STONE—Lucile O’Shaughnessy Walker, 64, left this life on August 13, 2021, surrounded by her two sons and her sweet dog Melissa. She was a resident of White Stone.
The daughter of late Charles Joseph “Bud” O’Shaughnessy and Patricia “Pat” Frances O’Shaughnessy, Mrs. Walker was born and raised in Kensington, Md., where she attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and Walter Johnson High School before heading off to West Virginia University where she earned a bachelor’s in social work.
Upon graduation, Mrs. Walker returned to Washington, D.C., where she began her career, married John Walker, her husband of 36 years, and started a family. In 1987 Lucy, John and her young family moved to White Stone where they started Walker Homes Inc., a custom home building company.
Her heart, however, was always in her own home where she built an atmosphere where all felt welcome. Lucy deeply cared for her family, and all those who entered her life. She became a second mom, a confidant, and a friend to many. She was the ultimate hostess, an expert gardener, and always had plenty of people around the table to enjoy her company. She simply made others feel like they were at home when in her company and all those lucky enough to experience that will forever be grateful for that warmth.
Survivors include her two sons, John (Sean) Cusworth Walker V (wife Miranda Lee Walker) of Burlington, N.C., and William Bradley Walker (wife Jenifer Elaine Walker) of White Stone; three grandchildren, Willow Elaine Walker, William Wren Walker and Adelaide Lee Walker; four siblings, Kathy Kauffman, Elizabeth Karaffa, John O’Shaughnessy and Colleen O’Rollins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John, who passed away in 2020, and her parents, Bud and Pat.
The Walker Family invites friends and family to a celebration of life ceremony at Currie Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday, August 20. The family will receive visitors prior to the ceremony from 10-11 a.m. Colorful attire is encouraged.
