Smith wins shotgun match by tiebreakers

Tom Smith claimed the first place ribbon in the Rappahannock Pistol & Rifle Club’s 5-Stand shotgun match on Sunday, August 29, with a score of 34.

The competition was very close with Smith having to survive two extra 10-shot tiebreakers with John Martin who had the same score of 34 and who earned the second place ribbon.

Close behind in third was Garrett Yard with a score of 32. A prospective member, David Marsh, who shot as a guest, had a score of 33 and also was awarded a third-place ribbon.

The competition consisted of two standard rounds of 25 targets for a total of 50 targets, reported Smith.
