HEATHSVILLE—Barbara Jo King, 76, of Heathsville went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2022.
She is survived her sons, Mark King and Kenny King; her daughter, Melanie Scheidig (Timo); grandson, Bjoern; and sister, Debra T. Whaley (Carvel).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Randolph and Ollie Mae Thrift; her husband, Earl Richard “Dickey” King Jr.; and her son, Richard Kevin King.
Barbara was a charter member of New Friendship Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She also loved to garden.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, at New Friendship Baptist Church, Heathsville, officiated by Rev. Rodney Morrison. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Family received friends one hour prior to the service.
