
Chesapeake Academy (CA) in Irvington held commencement exercises for the Class of 2022 and their families on Tuesday, June 7, under the school’s magnificent historic oak.
After an invocation by 2021-22 Student Council president Porter Pittman, head of school Julianne T. Duvall welcomed the school community.
Board of trustees chairman Michele T. Faulkner awarded the Norma Jean Edwards Volunteer Award to Emily Thomas and Phoebe Hollingsworth. This award, established in 2004, was named for one of the school’s all time great volunteers, Norma Jean Edwards, and recognizes volunteers who have worked tirelessly without hesitation, without reward, always putting the good of the academy and children first.
Sandbox Awards recognize students who have the longest relationship with the school, attending CA from preschool through graduation….
