Dr. Jason Strong named new director of Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School

Dr. Carol B. Carter, presiding superintendent for Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School (CBGS), recently announced that Dr. Jason Strong is the new director of CBGS, effective July 1.

CBGS serves New Kent, King and Queen, King William, Mathews, Gloucester, Caroline, Colonial Beach, Essex, Richmond County, Westmoreland, Northumberland, Middlesex, Lancaster and King George. CBGS offers programs  on the campuses of Rappahannock Community College at Glenns, Warsaw and Bowling Green.

Dr. Strong has served for the past 11 years in administration in Richmond County Public Schools. He replaces Dr. Rachel Ball who has served as director for the past 2.5 years.

As a child growing up on the Great Plains, Dr. Strong dreamed of becoming a marine biologist. He was fascinated with sharks, whales and….
