Lancaster opened its varsity volleyball season August 24, sweeping Charles City, 3-0. The Lady Devils ended the first week of play at 1-1 after falling to Middlesex, 3-1, on August 25.
The Devils edged the Chargers, 25-22, in the first game of the best of five series but host Middlesex responded with three straight wins, 25-11, 25-9, 25-14, to take the match.
