Lancaster commission recommends changes for workforce housing

LANCASTER—Following a public hearing without comment, the planning commission on Thursday, November 9, voted 6-0 to recommend changes to the land development code increasing densities in the residential community zoning district.

Under the proposed changes, the base density would increase from two units per acre to four. Developers could then increase to five units per acre if 10% of the units are priced between 50% and 120% of the median family income and a maximum of six units per acre if 20% of the units were priced in that range.

The commission also continued discussions on the noise ordinance in preparation for a public hearing….
