Lighting up the creek

The recent “Lights on the Creek” holiday boat parade, hosted by the Rappahannock River Yacht Club (RRYC), featured 11 boats of all types and sizes. Brightly illuminated for the holiday season and to the delight of everyone on shore, the boats cruised Carter Creek from Custom Yachts to Tides Inn.

The RRYC docks were packed with club members and the public as all were invited to view the parade while enjoying monster cookies and hot cider courtesy of the Tides Inn and the yacht club, said organizer Glen Solt. Other vantage points included Tides Inn, private docks and public access points along the parade route.

More than 80 club members and parade participants attended the after party featuring a hot chili dinner, lots of celebrating and the awarding of prizes, said Solt.

With the exceptional quality of decoration and illumination on all the entries, the judges had a hard time choosing….
