Churches partner in life support training

Trinity Episcopal Church in Lancaster recently hosted two Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED training sessions for neighboring churches. 

 “We saw a need for AED units, automated external defibrillators, in our church and our neighboring churches,” said event coordinator Liza Hearns. “With our rural locations, it takes time for emergency services to arrive and having a unit nearby could potentially save lives. Due to the generosity of the Jesse Ball duPont Fund, we were able to provide AED units to seven churches in the area and offer this training.” 

The churches are Hartswell Baptist, Queen Esther Baptist, Holy Tabernacle Church, Church of the Deliverance, Beulah Baptist, St. Mary’s Whitechapel Episcopal and Trinity Episcopal.
