Northumberland sets hearing on $22.1 million school budget

HEATHSVILLE—Although the school system presented a budget proposal for a special meeting on Wednesday, April 24, supervisors kept mum on the budget, only voting unanimously to hold a public hearing on the matter.

The proposed $22,153,020 school budget shows a $195,611 or a .8% increase over the current budget. Local funding is projected to increase $1,747,496 or 12.2% to $16,015,912.

The hearing will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at the Courts Building, 220 Judicial Place, Heathsville.
