Despite the heat, more than 300 people turned out Saturday, June 29, for the annual return of Raise the Roof at Historic Christ Church in Weems. There was plenty of shade to kick back in and enjoy music from Fade to Blue and En’Novation while sipping cold craft beers and Virginia wines. Barbecue was provided by Willaby’s Catering and ice cream from Short Lane Ice Cream Co. The fundraising event and raffle were sponsored by Chesapeake Bank, Clements Tent Rentals, Compass Entertainment, Connemara Corp., Davenport & Co., Dredge, The Golden Eagle Golf Course, Hanley Electrical Services, Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club, Konica Minolta, The Local, Mill Creek Geek LLC, Neptune Custom Carts, Northern Neck Insurance Co., Out of the Oven Bakery, Redlaw Mechanical, The Tides Inn, Willaby’s Catering and Walmart.
