Irvington United Methodist Church (IUMC) on June 23 honored its scholarship recipient, Reece Rhodes, at the 11:15 a.m. worship service.
Rhodes is the son of Virginia Stoughton and the grandson of Pete and Frances Stoughton, all of White Stone. He received a $1,000 scholarship that will be sent to Virginia Commonwealth University, the college he will attend in the fall, said Audrey Lowery.
Cynthia Bishop introduced Rhodes, her former kindergarten student, to the congregation and invited all in attendance to stay for fellowship and lunch following the service.
