Sheriff’s Report 07-18-24

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against four individuals.

A White Stone woman, 74, was charged July 9 with violating the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program for the underlying charge of driving under the influence, second offense.

A Kilmarnock woman, 21, was charged July 13 with appearing in public in an intoxicated condition.

A Haynesville woman, 78, was charged July 14 with trespassing.

A Lancaster woman, 67, was charged July 14 with trespassing.

Activity report

July 8: Staff responded to the 10 block of Brent Court for a verbal dispute, to the 90 block of Edgewood Lane for a suspicious vehicle, to the 900 block of Lowery Creek Road for a larceny, and to the 11000 block of River Road for an unruly juvenile.

July 9: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Field Trial roads for a reckless driver, and to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious person.

July 10: Staff responded to the 5000 block of Windmill Point Road for destruction of property, to the 1300 block of Shore Drive for a missing juvenile—safely located, to Chases Road for harassment, and to the 300 block of North Main Street for lost property.

July 11: Staff responded to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the highway, to the 11000 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 30 block of Lively Oaks Road for an unruly juvenile, to Merry Point Road for a disabled vehicle, and to the 300 block of Johns Neck Road for threats.

July 12: Staff responded to the 50 block of Third Street for a larceny and destruction of property, to Pinckardsville and Carlson roads for a downed tree, to the 40 block of Carlee Road for legal advice, to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for destruction of property, and to the 100 block of Thomas Landing Road for a verbal dispute.

July 13: Staff responded to the 600 block of King Carter Drive for a downed tree, to the 7000 block of River Road for debris in the highway, to the 1900 block of Black Stump Road for a noise complaint, to the 1300 block of Oak Hill Road for a noise complaint, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for an intoxicated person, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, and to the 200 block of Beach Road for a noise complaint.

July 14: Staff responded to the 3000 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a verbal disagreement, to the 1200 block of Mary Ball Road for a civil complaint, to the Norris Bridge for debris in the highway, and to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a verbal dispute.

Staff also conducted 26 traffic stops, issued 21 summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged an inmate transport, received three E911 hang up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire at 4 Youcomico Drive, a fire alarm at 76 Bailey Lane and with Kilmarnock VFD and White Stone VFD to a structure fire at 10628 Mary Ball Road.
