LANCASTER—Helga Steib Dunaway, 83, of Lancaster passed away on August 10, 2024. She was the widow of Robert “Bobby” Dunaway.
Helga was born in Mannheim, Germany, on September 28, 1940 to Friedrich and Lina Steib.
Helga was a member of Corrottoman Baptist Church and an active member serving in the church thrift shop. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and was a big supporter of helping animals and wildlife.
Helga was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Bobby Lee Dunaway.
She is survived by her son, Michael Dunaway (Sarah Kampelman) of Maryland; two grandchildren, Hassell and Willow; and her beloved cat “Katie.”
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, at Corrottoman Baptist Church in Ottoman. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Animal Welfare League of the Northern Neck.
