HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, August 20, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Ernest E. Adams of Reedville, charged with two counts of distribution/selling for profit of Schedule I/II drugs, the charges were nolle prossd.
In the case of Alexis A. Carter of Heathsville, charged with 22 felony counts of dog fighting activity, the case was carried over to October 1. Carter also faces a misdemeanor charge of depriving an animal of food.
In the case of Dayane K. Corsey of Callao, charged with shooting a firearm from a vehicle, malicious shooting at a car, and use of a firearm in a felony, a status hearing was set for October 22.
Travis T. Hatton of Farnham pleaded nolo contendere to grand larceny of over $1,000, not personal property. The case is under advisement and a hearing was set for July 22, 2025. Hatton also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of working without a license/violating contractor regulations. He was sentenced to 12 months with 12 months suspended. Hatton was placed in a community corrections program.
In the case of Lakeya Thornton of Heathsville, charged with two counts of malicious wounding, advisement was continued to August 27.
