
On August 18, first time novelist Carolyn McBride read from her debut novel, The Cicada Spring: A Potomac Shores Novel, at The Woman’s Club of Northumberland County (WCNC).
A rapt audience enjoyed learning from the author of her inspirations in writing the book. The section read aloud was about the main character’s discovery of multiple handmade quilts, and in particular one which had been decoratively stitched with the names of the family members who made the quilt, reported Cat Brincefield.
