Irvington Baptist Church, 53 King Carter Drive, Irvington, will host Mary Mikels in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 15. The concert is open to the public.
Mikels will perform her “Broadway Favorites & More Concert.” This one-hour show will feature classic tunes from “Les Misérables,” “Wicked,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “The Sound of Music,” “My Fair Lady” and “O Mio Babbino Caro,” the opera piece that landed her a spot in the first round of American Idol.
She also will sing beautiful, well-known Christian pieces and Italian Opera to conclude the concert, said Hazel Farmer.
Her “imitations” and surprises between songs are sure to delight the audience. She will tell a little about herself in the program, as well as her response to being born totally blind.
