Heathsville Farmers Market to celebrate history

Historical groups will be in attendance Saturday, September 21, at the Heathsville Farmers Market.

The Heathsville Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, September 21, at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern (RHHT), 73 Monument Place, Heathsville. The theme will be living history and activities will include a procession in period attire, bagpipe music and a historical flag display.

The market, sponsored by the RHHT Foundation, will offer fresh produce, meat and eggs, baked goods, gourmet peanuts, honey, roasted coffee and quality handcrafts.

At 11 a.m., an 1812 Color Guard will proceed down Back Street in Heathsville, followed by the Kilmarnock and District Pipe Band and an entourage of celebrants in period attire. The group will stop in front of RHHT, where a ceremony will be held to….
