HEATHSVILLE—John William “Billy” Hunt, 87, of Heathsville passed September 12 peacefully at home after a long illness.
He leaves behind his longtime wife and soulmate, Shirley; his daughters, Sherry Monroe and Theresa (Jeff) Hale; grandsons “Buddy” Saunders, Trevor, Derek and Trey House; also two great-grandchildren; brother, James “Jimmy;” and sister, Dorsey Hicks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marguerite Hunt; and a grandson, Corey Saunders.
Billy was raised in Alexandria, served in the Coast Guard, then became a Fairfax County Police officer.
He will be missed by many.
