The Kilmarnock Museum will recognize National Heroes Day, Tuesday, October 8, by honoring 15 “heroes” in Lancaster and Northumberland counties.
All of the individuals being honored have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help their fellow citizens and in most situations it was someone not known by them, said president Carroll Lee Ashburn.
The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at Nacho Average Brewpub, 44 West Church Street, Kilmarnock. It will be conducted by Sarah Chakales of NBC affiliate Channel 12 TV in Richmond, and will be filmed for viewing later.
