Lancaster High School picked up a win on each end of a three-match week to improve to 7-6 in varsity volleyball.
The Lady Devils swept King & Queen, 3-0, September 30 to open the series and took a 3-0 Northern Neck District win over Essex October 3 to end the week. In between, Rappahannock defeated LHS, 3-0, October 1.

Alexis VerMeer paced the Lancaster attack in its 25-14, 25-20 and 25-17 win over Essex. She put down 14 kills and had seven service aces. Additionally she had 13 assists.
Rory Lally had 13 kills, eight sets and 10 digs.
Addison George led the LHS defenders, getting low for 15 digs. Ayla Saunders had 11 digs, VerMeer had eight, Lily Hathaway five and Tahlia Sutton four.
George also had four assists.
Lancaster is 2-2 in the district and will play Northumberland tonight, October 10, in Claraville, to begin a second run….
