Lancaster will send three runners to the state races next week for the Class 1 cross country meet.
Senior Josh Woolard, who finished third in the Region 1A boys race at Newport News Park November 7, along with sophomore Rory Lally and freshman Finley Major, who both qualified in the girls race, will represent the Red Devils at the state meet Saturday, November 16, at Virginia Tech.

Mathews won both the boys and girls regional championships with the individual medalists in both races. Gavin Dustin, 16:50, led a field of 49 runners in the boys race and Elizabeth Moore, 22:00, led 37 runners in the girls race. The Blue Devils scored a team low 24 points with all five scorers in the top 10.
Middlesex was the runner-up in the boys race with 58 points and Northampton third, 82. All three of those teams, along with the top five individuals not on those teams, advance to the state race.
West Point placed fourth in the boys race with 116 points and Lancaster was fifth, 127. Rappahannock placed sixth with 130 points and Northumberland seventh, 175 points. Westmoreland had individual runners but did not compete as a full team.
The Blue Devils had the team low 25 points to win the girls regional trophy, while Rappahannock was the runner-up with 39 points. Middlesex was third with 72 points and Northampton fourth, 91. Mathews, Rappahannock and Middlesex will compete as teams at the state….
