CALLAO—James Leonard Hall of Callao, affectionately known as “Teeny Man,” passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, at the age of 82.

Born on August 14, 1942, in Rainswood, he was the beloved son of the late Easter Marie Hall and William Theodore Hall.

A graduate of Northumberland High School, James was a proud member of his community and a lifelong resident of the Northern Neck.

He was the devoted husband of Faye Garner Hall for 60 years and together they raised two children, Tina Hall Saunders and Michael Troy Hall (Amanda Walker Hall). He was a loving and proud grandfather to Brennon Kyle Saunders, Collin Blaine Saunders, Carson Bailey Saunders, Layton Blair Saunders and Garner Wynn “Winnie” Hall.

Teeny Man was preceded in death by his cherished brothers, Earl William Hall and Lewis Edward Hall; and his sister, Leona H. Douglas.

Teeny Man was the dedicated owner of Callao Glass and Tire, a business he ran with pride and care for many years. He and Faye also ran a lawn care business for too many years. His passion for sports gleamed throughout his life as he excelled in baseball, softball and golf. In recognition of his remarkable athletic achievements, he was inducted into the Northern Neck Sports Wall of Fame on April 21, 2012.

A pillar of the community, Teeny Man was a 57-year member of the Callao Moose Lodge, where he served as a past governor and was honored as a fellow. His life was defined by hard work, unwavering loyalty and a deep love for his family, friends and community.

James Leonard “Teeny Man” Hall will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate his life was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 19 at Henderson United Methodist Church, with visitation at the church one hour prior. He was laid to rest in the Henderson UMC Cemetery immediately following the service. A reception and Teeny’s Moose Memorial Service were held at the Callao Moose Lodge at 4 p.m. the same day.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made for a community bench at Hometown Community Park in Callao at P.O. Box 17, Callao, VA 22435.
