Festival of the Trees expected to raise over $300,000 for YMCA

The 27th annual Festival of Trees gala and live auction will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, December 7, at the Northern Neck Family YMCA, 39 William B. Graham Court, Kilmarnock. The fundraiser supports the YMCA and its mission to provide life-enriching programs for all, regardless of their ability to pay.

Event chairman Karen Burke and co-chairman Paul Sciacchitano are longtime volunteers on the board for the event.

According to Sciacchitano, the fundraiser provides the financial aid utilized for individuals and families to afford to be able to benefit from a number of the services provided by the YMCA.

Some 14% of the Northern Neck Family YMCA’s 1,519 membership units receive financial aid, he said.

With over 46 group exercise classes offered weekly, hundreds of swimmers utilizing the aquatic center weekly and….
