Sheriffs’ reports 12-12-24

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felony

Ricky Lane Jenkins Jr., 45, of White Stone was charged December 7 with violation of recognizance of condition of bond for the underlying charge of rape.

Misdemeanors

A Dinwiddie man, 22, was charged December 2 with driving or operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol; reckless driving; and failure to wear an appropriate safety belt system when such vehicle was in motion on a public highway.

A Farnham woman, 46, was charged December 3 with assault and battery.

A Lancaster man, 35, was charged December 4 with failure to appear for trial on November 6 and revocation of suspension of sentence and probation.

A Heathsville woman, 35, was charged December 5 with violation of deferred disposition in a criminal case.

A Lancaster woman, 35, was charged December 5 with disorderly conduct.

A Weems man, 50, was charged December 5 with assault and battery of a family or household member.

A Weems man, 56, was charged December 8 with assault and battery.

Activity report

December 2: Staff responded to Chases and Poplar Neck roads for the report of destruction of property, to the 3000 block of Black Stump Road for larceny, and to Bewdley and River roads for a disabled vehicle.

December 3: Staff responded to the 500 block of River Road for suspicious activity, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for larceny, to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for a suspicious person, and to the 600 block of Gaskins Road for an adult welfare check.

December 4: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for an adult welfare check, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the highway, and to Rivers Landing Road for a downed tree.

December 5: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 2000 block of Black Stump Road for a verbal dispute, and to the 9000 block of Black Stump Road for a verbal dispute.

December 6: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for an assault, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a citizen requesting an emergency protective order.

December 7: Staff responded to the 100 block of Entertainment Drive for a suspicious person.

December 8: Staff responded to the 10000 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 400 block of Old Orchard Road for a verbal dispute, to the 1 block of Youcomico Drive for a noise complaint, to the 100 block of First Street for a noise complaint, and to the 100 block of First Street for a threat.

Staff also conducted 25 traffic stops, issued 21 summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded four deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged three inmate transports, received three E911 hang up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 949 King Carter Drive, a brush fire at Mary Ball and Old Salem roads and with Kilmarnock VFD to a dumpster fire at 579 North Main Street.

Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a vehicle fire at Mary Ball and Devils Bottom roads.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felonies

Darren Price Frye, 50, of Heathsville was charged December 4 with disregarding a law enforcement signal, driving revoked or suspended and reckless driving. A summons also was issued for failing to stop at a stop sign. Frye also was charged on a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Hanover County General District Court for failing to appear on an original charge of driving revoked/suspended, second offense.

Joshua Robert Bryant, 40, of New York was charged December 5 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for four counts of rape of a child less than 13 years of age.

Jason Porter Harsh, 47, of Heathsville was charged December 5 on a capias to show cause issued by the Lancaster County Circuit Court for failing to obey a court order for unsuccessful completion of the drug court program by being charged with possession of a Schedule I/II drug.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 42, was charged December 2 with three counts of credit card fraud. These were Northumberland County warrants, served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

A Heathsville woman, 31, was charged December 3 on a capias/attachment of the body issued by Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear on underlying cases of a show cause violation from probation and parole and a trespassing charge.

An Arvonia man, 53, was charged December 4 with operating without a contractor’s license.

A Reedville woman, 61, on December 5 was served a summons issued by the Hanover General District Court for failing to abide by a traffic light.

A Heathsville man, 60 was charged December 6 with shoplifting at the Walmart in Kilmarnock. This was issued by the Kilmarnock Police Department and served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

A Heathsville man, 31, was charged December 6 with criminal trespassing.
