The Lancaster and Northumberland Social Services departments, in collaboration with the Fatherhood Foundation of Virginia and with funding from Chesapeake Bank and the Fatherhood Incentive Grant, distributed over 8,000 diapers to 32 dads from Lancaster and Northumberland counties Saturday, December 14, at Town Centre Park in Kilmarnock.
The goal of this initiative is for dads to be more inclusive in the lives of their children in friendly environments without moms and have fun, reported Lancaster Department of Social Services director Claudette Carter Henderson. All events are free; however, space is limited, and dads must register.
