The varsity Red Devils fell to 3-4 over the holiday break with a pair of losses in the New Kent Hoopville Holiday invitational tournament.
Hanover beat Lancaster High School, 68-52, on December 27 and Thomas Jefferson narrowly defeated the Devils, 62-60, in the third place consolation game on December 28. New Kent beat Hanover 74-61 in the tournament championship game.
Against Hanover, Jamarcus Russell kept the Devils in the game, scoring almost half of his team’s total. Russell scored 13 of his game high 25 points in the first half. Keyvontrez Bunns added 13 for the Devils, who fell behind 32-24 in the first half and….
