The 2025 NNK250 Signature Speaker Series will open at 2 p.m. January 26 at the University of Mary Washington Dahlgren Campus, 4224 University Drive, King George.
UMW Dahlgren will host Dr. Woody Holton of the University of South Carolina. He will present “Forced Founders: Indians, Debtors, Slaves and the Making of the American Revolution in Virginia.”
The topic sheds light on a classic political question: Why did the owners of vast plantations, viewed by many of their contemporaries as aristocrats, start a revolution?
