
Classical Gems featuring Trio Niche, a fortepiano trio with a historical insight into music from the Classical period, will give a concert at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, January 26, at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 South Main Street, Kilmarnock.
Trio Niche, Tom Marshall, fortepiano; Susan Via, violin; and Sarah Glossen, cello, was formed by seasoned baroque musicians to bring a historical sensibility to repertoire from the turn of the 19th century, reported parish administrator Bett Harrison Bryant.
The ensemble features a fortepiano that is a modern replica of an 1805 Walther instrument built by Paul McNulte. The violin and cello date to the 19th century and are played with reproduction “transitional” classical bows by Eitan Hoffer.
