Every quarter, Burkes Fine Jewelers, 86 South Main Street, Kilmarnock, totals the sales of watch batteries and donates $5 per purchase to Bright Beginnings through the Northern Neck Family YMCA, The Haven, Lancaster/Northumberland Interfaith Services Council and the Northern Neck Food Bank.
Each charity is assigned one week per month and $5 from each battery sale made in that week is donated to the designated charity.
This quarter, Burkes Fine Jewelers donated a total of $725 to these organizations.
