Sheriffs’ Reports 01-30-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

Mitrada Donta Bunns Sr., 43, of Heathsville was charged January 20 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on the underlying charge of manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing or possessing with the intent to manufacture, sell, give or distribute a controlled substance.

Shawn Edward Jones, 52, of White Stone was charged January 27 with two counts of manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing or possessing with the intent to manufacture, sell, give or distribute a controlled substance; assault and battery of a volunteer firefighter in their performance of duty; possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of appearing in public in an intoxicated condition.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 52, was charged January 24 with four counts of violating a provision of a family abuse protective order.

An Irvington man, 25, was charged January 24 with petit larceny.

January 20: Staff responded to the 100 block of Tabbs Choice Road for threats.

January 21: Staff responded to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for an adult welfare check, to the 5000 block of Mary Ball Road for a larceny, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for fraud, to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 50 block of Corrotoman Drive for a disabled vehicle, to Mary Ball and Regina roads for a reckless driver, and to the 20 block of Devils Bottom Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

January 22: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Peirces roads for a reckless driver, to Mary Ball and Regina roads for a disabled vehicle, to Mary Ball and Field Trial roads for a disabled vehicle.

January 23: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for threats, to Mary Ball and Goodluck roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 400 block of Nuttsville Road for legal advice, and to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for destruction of property.

January 24: Staff responded to the 900 block of Beanes Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 5000 block of Irvington Road for a larceny, to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for trespassing, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the highway, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for credit card fraud.

January 25: Staff responded to the 700 block of Christ Church Road for suspicious activity, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, to the 100 block of Wilson Lane for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

January 26: Staff responded to the 800 block of Nuttsville Road for a fight in progress, to the 500 block of Chesapeake Drive for a motor vehicle theft, to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for livestock in the highway, and to the 700 block of Newtown Road for a traffic crash and disorderly person.

Staff also conducted 23 traffic stops, issued 16 summonses, assisted two motorists, handled a request for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged an inmate transport, received four E911 hang up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to 460 South Main Street and 2515 Fleets Bay Road fire alarms; 74 Chase Street for smoke inside the residence, 21 Cherry Hill Road for a fuel leak and 573 North Main /street for a propane leak.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to 108 Estates Road for a brush fire.

White Stone VFD responded to 737 Newtown Road for a traffic crash.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Jonathan Tyler Martin, 40, of Heathsville was charged January 10 with two felony counts of grand larceny. These warrants were served by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.

Nicholas Lamont Turner, 31, of Callao was charged January 14 with felony pointing/brandishing a firearm, firearm used in commission of a felony, first offense, rape by force or intimidation and abduction. He also was charged with possession of a firearm, non-violent conviction within 10 years. His misdemeanor charges consisted of assault and battery and reckless handing of a firearm.

Kevin Maurice Edwards, 41, of Lancaster was charged January 17 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court on original charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle, assault and battery and two counts of violating a protective order.

Misdemeanors

A Victoria man, 36, was charged January 17 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear on original charges of failing to appear and driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, and no drivers license.

A Montross woman, 32, was charged January 22 with stalking.
