Coffee with a cop
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will host “coffee with a cop” at 9 a.m. Thursday, February 20, at Front Porch Coffeehouse, 139 South Main Street, Kilmarnock.
Members of the public are urged to meet and chat with law enforcement representatives.
Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against eight individuals.
Felonies
Jason Thomas Spence, 40, of Lancaster was charged February 4 with abduction, and misdemeanors stalking, six counts of using profane, threatening or indecent language over public airways, and six counts of causing a telephone, digital pager or other device to ring or signal with intent to annoy.
Logan Rileigh Gordon, 18, of Farnham was charged February 10 with entering dwelling house with intent to commit larceny, assault and battery or other felony, misdemeanor without authority, trespass or remain upon the property after having been forbidden to do so by an authorized individual.
Misdemeanors
A Weems man, 26, was charged February 4 with failure to appear in court for trial on the underlying charge of driving while license is suspended.
A Lancaster woman, 68, was charged February 4 with allowing a vicious dog to run at large.
A Lancaster man, 64, was charged February 7 with non-compliance with Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program on the underlying charge of driving while intoxicated, second offense.
A Lancaster man was charged February 7 with driving or operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, drinking while operating a motor vehicle, possession of an open container while operating a motor vehicle, and driving a motor vehicle on the highway at a speed of 53 miles per hour which was in excess of the applicable speed limit of 35 miles per hour.
A Reedville man, 20, was charged February 9 with being under the age of 21 and operating a motor vehicle after having illegally consumed alcohol, willfully contributing to encouraging or causing any act of omission or condition which rendered a child under the age of 18 delinquent in need of services and in need of supervision, and while being under 21 possessing an alcoholic beverage.
A White Stone man, 22, was charged February 10 with driving or operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, refusal to submit breath or blood for chemical test, intentionally destroying, defacing or damaging roads belonging to the State of Virginia with the value of or damage to such property being less than $1,000, and driving while license is suspended or revoked.

February 3: Staff responded to Turner Lane for a traffic complaint, to 1883 Windmill Point Road for an adult welfare check, to the 300 block of Little Bay Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 300 block of Merry Point Road for a child welfare check.
February 4: Staff responded to the 9000 Block of Mary Ball Road for a juvenile complaint, to the 400 block of Newtown Road for legal advice, and to James B. Jones Memorial Highway for a disabled vehicle.
February 5: Staff responded to the 200 Block of Middle Gate for an adult welfare check, to the 200 block of Steamboat Road for a noise complaint, to the Norris Bridge for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for livestock in the highway.
February 6: Staff responded to the 10 Block of Mercers Way for an adult welfare check, to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for a check fraud, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a motor vehicle larceny
February 7: Staff responded to the 500 Block of White Chapel Road for threats, to the 100 block of Fitchett Drive for fraud, to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for an adult welfare check, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for fraud, to Irvington Road and Pittmans Drive for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to Goodluck Road and Hidea Wy for the report of a single vehicle traffic crash; responded to the 100 block of Merry Point Road for the report of gunshots in the late evening hours.
February 8: Staff responded to Lovers Lane for gunshots in the late evening hours.
February 9: Staff responded to Irvington Road and White Fences Drive for an abandoned vehicle, to the 2000 block of Iberis Road for suspicious activity, to the 1000 block of Oak Hill Road for trespassing, and to the 1000 block of Windmill Point Road for a reckless driver.
Staff also conducted 36 traffic stops, issued 26 summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded four deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated eight building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received seven E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.
Fire calls
Lancaster County Emergency Medical Services (LCEMS) and White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 1491 Little Bay Road and separate vehicle crashes on the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge and Irvington Road at Pittman Drive.
White Stone VFD also responded to a brush fire on Greys Point Road and fire alarm at 949 King Carter Drive.
Upper Lancaster VFD and LCEMS responded to a residential structure fire at 1497 Lara Road.
Kilmarnock VFD and LCEMS responded to separate traffic crashes on Apple Grove Road and Good Luck Road at Hidea Wy.
Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against eight individuals.
Felonies
Bernard Lejon Jenkins, 54, of Fredericksburg was charged February 5 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for a probation violation on original charges of voluntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm by testing positive for drugs.
David Vincent Christian, 25, of Kilmarnock was charged February 6 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for a probation violation on an original charge of assaulting a law enforcement officer by obtaining new charges in Lancaster County Courts. He was served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
Nicholas Lamont Turner, 31, of Warsaw was charged February 7 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for abduction with intent to defile and rape by force or threat.
Misdemeanors
A Montross woman, 32, was charged January 23 with violating a protective order. This was a Northumberland warrant, served by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.
A Heathsville man, 65, was charged January 28 with assault and battery of a family member.
A Callao man, 28, was charged January 30 with assault and battery of a family
A Callao woman, 21, was charged January 30 with assault and battery of a family member.
A Heathsville man, 36, was charged February 4 with criminal trespassing after being forbidden to do so.
