CLARAVILLE—Northumberland school superintendent Holly Wargo is under scrutiny from the public and members of the school board as questions surrounding financial management and the proposed $22,953,751 budget for 2025-26 were at the forefront of a Monday, February 10, school board meeting.
School board member David Curran began the meeting noting his disappointment that there was no representation from the school board during a recent joint finance meeting with the board of supervisors.
Curran moved to send a representative from the school board to participate in a future budget workshop with the supervisors. Cheryl Davis seconded the motion.
However, Dana O’Bier, Denise Mazyck and Betty Christopher voted against the motion and it failed, 3-2.
Curran later added that for the betterment of the school system, there needs to be representation….
