Girls all district team named; postseason play begins

Morgan Self, a 5’8” junior forward/center from Essex, was named the Northern Neck District’s player of the year for girls basketball and was one of two Lady Trojans named to the all-district first team.

Westmoreland, which was the top seed in this week’s Region 1A tournament, filled two first-team spots with senior Janaya Moore and sophomore Nykere Rich.

Northumberland claimed one first team spot with sophomore Braylin Beauchamp and named junior Kierra Coleman to the second team.

Lancaster, which also earned a spot in this week’s regional tournament, placed two on the all district second team in….
