Smith Point Sea Rescue participates in 19th annual Search & Rescue Forum

A Smith Point Sea Rescue crew receives a risk assessment briefing prior to an on-the-water training exercise.

REEDVILLE—Rescue III, Smith Point Sea Rescue’s (SPSR) newest vessel, has recently returned from a week of search and rescue exercises and training with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Port of Virginia. The vessel was crewed by SPSR duty captains Kendra Simpson, Jim Dabbs, Patrick Derry and Bill Turville.

More than 40 organizations and 200 individuals participated in the 19th annual Search & Rescue Forum, with classroom training in Hampton, and on-water training and exercises held in Norfolk Harbor….
