LHS track teams are setting a winning pace

Lancaster had seven individual winners to claim a team win over four other teams in a girls track and field meet at Rappahannock High School last week.

The Lady Devils won the girls meet with 92 points, edging the host Raiders by two points. King William finished third with 61 points, Northumberland fourth, 27, and Charles City fifth, 13.

The finals were reversed in the boys meet with the Raiders winning their meet with 92 points. Lancaster was second with 90 points, King William third, 70, and Northumberland fourth, 45.

Girls meet

For the Devils, Makenzee Dagner sprinted past all comers on the short track winning the 100 meter dash in 12.75 and the 200 meter in 26.68.

Finley Major won the 800 meter run in 2:46.76 and finished as the runner-up in the 1600 meter in 6:01.18.

Angelina Smith sprinted her way to first in the 100 meter hurdles in 19.97. The LHS 4X100 meter relay team won in 52.86.
