Sheriff’s Report 04-17-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felonies

Levaughn Seldon, 37, of Heathsville was charged April 7 with knowingly and intentionally possessing or transporting a firearm after having been convicted of a violent felony, and two counts of pointing, holding or brandishing firearm, air or gas operated weapon or object similar in appearance (misdemeanor). These were  Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office warrants.

Chad Christopher Myers, 37, of White Stone was charged April 14 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on the underlying charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Corigan Jai Lee, 33, of Lancaster was charged April 13 with knowingly and intentionally possessing or transporting a firearm after having been convicted of a felony, driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked (misdemeanor), consuming an alcoholic beverage while driving a motor vehicle upon a public highway (summons) and expired State Inspection (summons).

Kyle Lee George Jr., 21, of White Stone was charged April 13 with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle valued at $1,000 or more, without the consent of and in absence of the owner with the intent temporarily to deprive the owner of possession.

Misdemeanors

A Tappahannock woman, 21, was charged April 9 with failure to appear in court on April 8 on the underlying charge of assault and battery.

A Lancaster woman, 26, was charged April 11 with destruction of property and trespassing.

A Kilmarnock woman, 53, was charged April 11 with assault and battery.

A Weems man, 61, was charged April 12 with failure to appear in court April 9 for arraignment on a reckless driving charge.

Activity report

April 7: Staff responded to the 90 Block of Moran Creek Road for a downed tree, to the 2000 block of Irvington Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 300 block of Newtown Road for a juvenile complaint, to the 1000 block of Devils Bottom Road for a downed tree, and to the 2000 block of Lara Road for a downed tree.

April 8: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for fraud, and to the 200 block of Mifarm Road for suspicious activity.

April 9: Staff responded to the the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a traffic hazard.

April 10: Staff responded to the 100 block of Lancaster Drive for an adult welfare check, to Mary Ball and Kamps Mill roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Pop Castle Road for a larceny, to the Norris Bridge for a disabled vehicle, to the 500 block of Hoecake Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of White Chapel Road for a verbal disagreement, and to the 1000 block of Black Stump Road for a domestic disturbance.

April 11: Staff responded to Lonesome Pine Trail for a downed tree, to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for a suspected drive-by shooting, to White Chapel and River roads for a disabled vehicle, to Weems Road for a road hazard, to Pinckardsville Road for a road hazard, and to Rocky Neck and Granville Bay roads for a downed tree.

April 12: Staff responded to Goodluck Road and Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to Regina Road for littering, to the 100 block of Harris Road for an assault, and to the 11000 block of Mary Ball Road for gunshots in the late evening hours.

April 13: Staff responded to the 200 block of Ocran Road for legal advice, to the 500 block of Rappahannock Drive for a larceny, to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for suspicious activity; and to the 100 block of Buttercup Lane for a domestic disturbance.

Staff also conducted 54 traffic stops, issued 45 summonses, assisted three motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged five inmate transports, received six E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a downed tree at 2912 Lara Road.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to traffic crashes at 7663 Jessie duPont Memorial Highway, Mary Ball and Kamps Mill Roads, Bluff Point Road, and another on Jessie duPont; a vehicle fire at 200 Old Fair Grounds Way, and a fire alarm at 599 North Main Street.
