Kindergarteners at Lancaster Elementary School learned about life cycles during March.

In Rachel Sanford’s classroom, students learned about the life cycle of a tadpole, while in Keith Schneider’s classroom they learned about the life cycle of a butterfly, reported principal Keegan Walters. Kindergarteners in Kristin Harris’ class had an unforgettable experience watching baby chicks hatch from eggs, bringing Standards of Learning (SOLs) to life.

The excitement spread beyond kindergarten with visitors from all grade levels coming to take a “peep.” This experience connected to science SOLs of life cycles, animal and plant interactions, adaptations and ecosystems. This special time gave students a firsthand look at science in action, sparking curiosity across multiple grade levels.
