Valedictorian Harry “Trey” Booth encouraged his fellow graduates to move through the rest of their lives with gratitude for the moment they’re in and to not take time for granted. “We wish away time as if years were infinite…Cherish the Mondays like they’re a Friday night,” he said.
Chloe Brann earned the title of Salutatorian for earning the second highest grade point average of her graduating class. During her remarks, Brann reflected on the resilience her class exemplified over the years. “Every obstacle we have faced has prepared us for our future endeavors,” she said.
Class of 2025 president Sanaa Thomas remembered years of laughter alongside her friends. She reminded her classmates the importance of surrounding themselves
with supportive and positive people who challenge you to be the best version of yourself. She also said how it’s just as important to not forget to be that person for someone else, too.
Ryland Pearson’s boots were made for walking across the graduation stage, and that’s just what they did.
Principal Travis Burns was not only a proud principal during the festivities, but also a proud father. He presented his daughter, Ava Burns, with her diploma.
In addition to the 86 students who graduated from
Northumberland, two staff members also were honored
for their long careers at NHS as they have retired. Gladys
Richardson was presented a Northumberland jersey
with the number 43 to represent her 43 years working
as a special education teacher at Northumberland. Jesse Lee also was recognized for his 21 years of service as a school resource officer.
