Virginia’s River Realm communities receive $60,000 in VTC grants for tourism marketing

Three communities in Virginia’s River Realm (VRR) recently received $20,000 grants from the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s (VTC) Destination Marketing Organization Grant Program.

“Stay More, Play More” positions Kilmarnock as the ideal hub for working families and young professionals seeking family-friendly, activity-packed extended holiday weekends that maximize their paid time off (PTO), said economic development coordinator Sharon Philips.

“Where the Wild Things Are” showcases Middlesex County’s diverse seasonal wildlife and flora sighting with guides for travelers ages 35-54 in Raleigh, N.C., and Washington, D.C. markets. These guides feature seasonal wildlife, native plants and eco-tourism experiences across Middlesex, Lancaster and Tappahannock through curated seasonal itineraries, said Philips.
