The Hill family of White Stone celebrated Juneteenth with Boots on the Ground, a family event attended by 135 participants at the Masonic Lodge in Kilmarnock. The event was catered by Tracy Lee, owner of Fabulous Occasions, with assistance from DJ Grimes suppling the music and Tracy Taylor taking photographs.
Family and friends traveled from as far away as Palms Springs, Calif., San Antonio, Texas, Fort Worth, Texas, Winston-Salem, N.C., Rayford, N.C., Baltimore, Md., and Lorton, Hampton, and Williamsburg locally, reported Lloyd Hill.
