WARSAW—With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Allen Leslie Clark, better known as “Les”. While his family knew him as Husband, Father, Brother, Cousin and Friend, Les lived a life of integrity, service and honor, and deserves one more title: HERO.
You were likely to meet Les at a community event or fundraiser, since he was a key member and former chief of the Richmond County Volunteer Fire Department for almost 40 years, so he was a friendly, familiar face during a time of tragedy. Les was also a member of Oakland United Methodist Church, the Loyal Order of Moose in Callao and of the Cull Hunt Club, leaving behind a huge committee of grieving friends.
Feeling the loss most greatly is his wife, Donna Delano Clark; and daughter, Lauren Davis (Jonathan) of Chesterfield. They are surrounded by a support network of sweet friends, but the family would like to especially thank his sister, Debbie King (Lowery); niece, Sandy O’Bier; and cousin, Kenny Newsome, who will be officiating the service, for helping Donna create a unique and special tribute to Les’s life.
A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at Welch Funeral Home in Warsaw. You are warmly invited to come and share heartfelt memories and happy stories during a visitation held the hour prior, and if you would like to contribute to a good cause, please consider donating to the Richmond County Fire Department, PO Box 626, Warsaw VA 22572, or Oakland United Methodist Church, PO Box 133, Farnham VA 22460, to pass on Les’s legacy of doing good and giving back to his community.
