Sheriff’s Report 08-07-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against 13 individuals.

Felonies

Jeremy Martel Nickens, 43, of Lancaster was charged July 25 with manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing or possessing with intent to manufacture, sell, give or distribute a controlled substance; knowingly and intentionally possessing or transporting a firearm after having been convicted of a violent felony; and possessing, using or attempting to use a pistol, shotgun, rifle or other firearm or display such weapon in a threatening manner while committing or attempting to commit the illegal manufacture, sale, distribution or the possession with the intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a controlled substance classified in Schedule I /II of the Drug Control Act. This was a result from a search warrant that was executed at the Nickens residence by a joint effort among the Chesapeake Bay Narcotics Task Force, Virginia State Police and Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Blake Re’Shad Taylor-Rice, 27, of White Stone was charged July 28 with disregarding signal by law enforcement officer to stop; eluding.

Trevon Levar Henderson, 26, of Kilmarnock was charged August 1 with strangulation or suffocation; stalking (misdemeanor); and assault and battery a family or household member (misdemeanor).

Lionel Lamont Baker, 49, of Lancaster was charged August 3 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on the underlying charge of manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing or possessing with the intent to manufacture, sell, give, or distribute a controlled substance.

Keylon Monquizz Pruden, male, 27, of Newport News was charged August 8 with disregarding signal by law enforcement officer to stop; eluding; reckless driving by driving a motor vehicle on the highway at a speed of 20 miles per hour or more in excess of the applicable maximum speed limit (misdemeanor); driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked (misdemeanor); operation of uninsured motor vehicle (summons); operation of unregistered motor vehicle (summons); drinking while operating a motor vehicle (summons); improper passing (summons); and hit and run unattended property (summons).

Misdemeanors

A Richmond man, 32, was charged July 28 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated; and driving a motor vehicle without a driver’s license (misdemeanor).

A Reedville man, 24, was charged July 28 with indecent exposure.

A Richmond man, 43, was charged July 28 with driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked; and driving a motor vehicle on a highway recklessly or at a speed to endanger the life, limb or property of a person.

A Lancaster man, 32, was charged July 28 with trespassing after having been forbidden to do so.

An Urbanna man, 32, was charged July 28 with refusal to submit breath or blood for chemical test, driving after forfeiture of license, obstruction of justice; and resisting arrest.

A Lancaster man, 72, was charged July 28 with reckless handling of a firearm.

A Kilmarnock woman, 22, was charged July 29 with obtaining money by false pretenses.

A White Stone man, 33, was charged July 29 with perjury.

A Weems man, 36, was charged August 1 with assault and battery of a family or household member.

Activity report

July 28: Staff responded to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle, to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and Shiloh School Road for a downed tree, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for the report of identity theft.

July 29: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, to White Chapel Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 200 block of Blueberry Point Road for a scam, to the 4000 block of Irvington Road for a suspicious person, and to the 500 block of Ottoman Ferry Road for suspicious activity.

July 30: Staff responded to the 1600 block of Laurel Point Road for a larceny, to the Norris Bridge for a reckless driver.

July 31: Staff responded to the 100 block of Gaskins Road for a domestic assault, to King Carter Drive & Irvington Road for a reckless driver, and to the 50 block of Pohickory Lane for an adult welfare check.

August 1: Staff responded to the 1900 block of River Road for a suspicious person, to the 70 block of Benson Road for a civil complaint, to the 7000 block of River Road for an assault; and to the the Norris Bridge for  two-vehicle traffic crash.

August 2: Staff responded to the 1200 block of Davis Mill Road for suspicious person, to the 900 block of Ocran Road for a suspicious person, and responded to Rappahannock Drive for a vehicle pursuit by law enforcement.

August 3: Staff responded to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for an adult welfare check, and to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver.

Staff also conducted 41 traffic stops, issued 27 summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a request for traffic control, investigated six building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged four inmate transports, received two E911 hang up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster and Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a residential structure fire at 2733 White Chapel Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a fuel spill at 852 Chesapeake Drive, a traffic crash on the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge, and a brush fire at 332 Chesapeake Drive.

Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a vehicle fire at 6749 Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and a traffic crash at 7725 Jessie duPont Memorial Highway.
