Sheriff’s Report 08-21-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felony

Mitrada Donta Bunns, 44, of Heathsville was charged August 14 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on the underlying charge of manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing or possessing with the intent to manufacture, sell, give or distribute a controlled substance.

Misdemeanors

A Weems woman, 21, was charged August 11 with obstructing justice, resisting arrest, and driving a motor vehicle on a highway at a speed of 44 miles per hour in excess of the applicable maximum speed limit of 25 miles per hour.

A Weems man, 49, was charged August 12 with stalking, and two counts of assault and battery of a family or household member.

A White Stone man, 41, was charged August 14 with knowingly or intentionally possessing a controlled substance classified in Schedule III, and violating a provision of an emergency protective order.

A Kilmarnock man, 40, was charged August 16 with failure to comply with a support obligation.

Activity report

August 11: Staff responded to the 300 Block of Akins Lane for a larceny, to the 20 block of Gunther Lane for harassment, and to the 200 block of Mifarm Road for a noise complaint.

August 12: Staff responded to Black Stump Road for a suspicious person, and to the 600 block of North Main Street for a fight in progress.

August 13: Staff responded to the 18000 Block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, to the 900 block of Peirces Road for trespassing, to the 900 block of Ocran Road for a suspicious person, to the Robert O. NorrisJr. Memorial  Bridge for debris in the highway, and to the 800 block of Senora Road for trespassing.

August 14: Staff responded to the 18000 Block of Mary Ball Road for suspicious activity, to the 500 block of Mosquito Beach Lane for trespassing, to James B. Jones Memorial Highway and Irvington Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 900 block of Peirces Road for an assault, and to the 20 block of Trappers Lane for a juvenile complaint.

August 15: Staff responded to the 900 Block of Peirces Road for a verbal dispute, to Cherry Point Drive and Shady Lane for gunshots in the late evening hours, and to the 4000 block of Mary Ball Road for trespassing.

August 16: Staff responded to the 8000 Block of Mary Ball Road for a civil complaint, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 800 block of Ocran Road for a suspicious vehicle.

August 17: Staff responded to the 8000 Block of Mary Ball Road for debris in the highway, to the Norris Bridge for a suspicious person, to the 900 block of Peirces Road for trespassing, to the 200 block of Bayview Lane for a verbal dispute, to the 100 block of Western Branch Road for a downed tree, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a downed tree.

Staff also conducted 30 traffic stops, issued 24 summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a request for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, logged four inmate transports, received two E911 hang up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire at 255 Saltwater Drive.
