Local Legacies Softball Camp expands

After a successful run with the NCAA Division 1 Virginia Tech Hokies, Rappahannock High School alum Meredith Slaw returned to the Northern Neck where she teamed up with her sister and other high school and college standouts to offer a skills camp for aspiring softball players.

Slaw, who graduated from Tech in 2023, was a decorated college player with multiple all-conference and regional first team honors. Her sister, Candace, is now playing for Christopher Newport University and in 2024 was named the Freshman of the Year by the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference.

Meredith hosted the first Local Legacies Softball Camp in 2024 with 135 participants. The 2025 camp was held August 9 at Richmond County Little League complex in Warsaw with 150 girls ages 8-15 participating….
