

KILMARNOCK—An image from a concerned citizen protest march in Kilmarnock on Saturday, August 16, quickly initiated following the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska, reached Urkraine.
“A small but spirited group of neighbors took a walk down Main Street in Kilmarnock to share a simple message: democracy matters, and so does your voice,” said Lancaster County Democratic chairman Charlotte Hollings.
“With signs, flags and a few friendly waves, we reminded folks to mark their calendars for the upcoming Virginia elections on November 4,” said Hollings. “Every vote is part of keeping our community strong and our future free.”
“Our tiny group of walkers attracted quite a bit of attention along the way—folks stopped to talk or to simply say thank you. Then—and it was crazy, as we were about to get into our cars, a man came bounding across Main—all smiles to see the large Ukrainian flag flying,” said march participant Carolyn Young.
