
FREDERICKSBURG—Robert Lee “Bobby” Akers Jr., 83, of Fredericksburg went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 7, 1942, in White Stone, the son of Robert L. Akers and Catherine F. Davis. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He loved the Lord with all his heart. He was married to his wife, Virginia, for 64 years. He retired from General Products after 15 years of service. Bobby was a member of Round Oak Baptist Church for over 30 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Akers; children, Robert Neal (Vikki) Akers and Catherine A. Sullivan; grandchildren, Sierra (Ryan) Hockaday and Cody Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jesse Hockaday; siblings, Jimmy Akers, William Akers and Margie Headley; and his Boston terrier, Holly.
He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Mary Hogg and Marie Hayden.
A visitation and service for Robert was held Tuesday, August 12, at Round Oak Baptist Church, 15025 Pepmeier Hill Road, Woodford. A committal service followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3702 Loren Dr., Fredericksburg.
