New Lancaster High School enters final stages of construction

Lancaster supervisors, school board members, community members and construction crews gathered at the site of the new Lancaster High School Friday, August 22, to celebrate the “topping out” of the building, a major milestone that signals the final phases of the major construction project.

Attendees received an inside look at the future Lancaster High School. Here, they are on the main floor in the commons area that opens up after entering the building. This will include a dining space for students during regular school days as well as entrances to the gymnasium and the auditorium for after-school activities. At $75 million, “it is the largest project the county of Lancaster has ever undertaken,” said county administrator Don Gill.

School board chairman Joan Gravatt said the milestone was about “recognizing the years of work and the many hands that have brought us here.” She also recognized the….
