Sheriff’s Report 09-18-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Carrie Michelle Crowell, 30, was charged September 8 with breaking and entering a dwelling/house while it was occupied, destruction of property (misdemeanor), and trespassing (misdemeanor).

Cody Ray Jones, 32, of Urbanna, was charged September 10 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on the underlying charge of grand larceny.

Toni Leigh Rash, 34, of Gloucester was charged September 14 with possessing a controlled substance classified in Schedule I/II with intent to manufacture, sell, give or distribute, knowingly or intentionally possessing a controlled substance classified in Schedule I/II not obtained directly from or pursuant to a valid prescription or order of a practitioner while acting in the course of a professional practice or not authorized by the Drug Control Act, possessing controlled paraphernalia (misdemeanor), and failure to obey an order of the Gloucester General Court ordering to report to jail on August 8.

David Lee Couch Jr., 36, of White Stone was charged September 14 with possessing a controlled substance classified in Schedule I/II with the intent to manufacture, sell, give or distribute; knowingly or intentionally possessing a controlled substance in Schedule I/II not obtained directly from or pursuant to a valid prescription or order of a practitioner while acting in the course of a professional practice or not authorized by the Drug Control Act, possessing controlled paraphernalia (misdemeanor), petit larceny (misdemeanor), driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked (misdemeanor), and altered or forged license plate (misdemeanor).

Misdemeanor

A Burgess man, 44, was charged September 13 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Activity report

September 8: Staff responded to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and Goodluck Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 30 block of Windmill Point Road for a traffic complaint, to the 100 block of Chiltons Point Road for suspicious activity, to the 3000 block of Black Stump Road for construction fraud, to River and Ottoman Ferry roads for a traffic complaint, to the 700 block of Hoecake Road for threats, and to the 100 block of Burkes Lane for a disabled vehicle.

September 9: Staff responded to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for larceny, and to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for suspicious activity.

September 10: Staff responded to the 100 block of Kathy Drive for a civil complaint, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for harassment, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for identity theft, to the 900 block of Christ Church Road for legal advice, to the 3000 block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, and to the 20000 block of Mary Ball Road for a noise complaint.

September 11: Staff responded to the 90 block of Punches Cove Road for a domestic disturbance.

September 12: Staff responded to the 20 block of Pintail Lane for a verbal dispute, to the 200 block of Flats Lane for trespassing, to the 100 block of Little Bay Road for a neighbor dispute, and to the 500 block of Lara Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

September 13: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Morattico roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the highway, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for an adult welfare check, and to Mary Ball and Old Salem roads for a suspicious vehicle.

September 14: Staff responded to the 900 block of Chesapeake Drive for trespassing, to the 70 block of Rose Drive for larceny, and to the 12000 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious person.

Staff also conducted 44 traffic stops, issued 38 summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a request for traffic control, investigated two building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged two inmate transports, received 13 E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 1463 Balls Neck Road, a traffic crash at 560 Lara Road and a brush fire at 141 White Pine Drive.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash at Mary Ball and Morattico roads.
